Our little runt....

I took Kayson in for his 9 month check up today. He is doing so much better from the last few weeks it is wonderful. When I took him in last Monday he weighed 17 lbs. and a week later he is weighing in at 19 lbs. Now this may sound like the weight of a strapping young baby...but it's not. Kayson is...a runt! He is in the 25% for his weight, 10% for his height, and 15% for his head circumference. Some moms would be concerned that their child is puny and scrawny, I on the other hand love the fact that I have this little guy who is actually staying little. Kayson is more than likely going to be our last child and from the time I got pregnant with him I was so worried that he would grow up so fast and that would be the end of babies filling our house with the feeling only babies bring. I feel bad to say this, but I have enjoyed him at every stage of infancy more than my other kids (mostly due to the fact that by this time I was usually pregnant again and very sick). But I am so glad that he is here and I get to hold and baby him for what seems a little bit longer than I got to with the other kids. Thank goodness for runts!

We finally got the kids out of the house...

Well, we couldn't take it any more...Saturday was just a beautiful day here we just had to get out of the house. So, even though some of us still felt a little under the weather we made it out to a place just outside of town called Eagle Rock to take the kids sledding. We had so much fun!!! The kids loved it almost as much as daddy. We took the dogs and they just ran like crazy. Here are a few pics of that much needed playtime!Daddy and Mason heading down the oh so big hill!
Daddy and Brooklynn almost running over Bronx!

Jaxson and Mason sledding down the hill all by themselves!

It was such a wonderful day. Sometimes with 4 children it seems like too much work to take them all out and do things with them. The entire time we were getting ready my mind flashed back to Christmas and our not-so-wonderful tree cutting experience. I thought the day was going to be a disaster. I was just sure that one kid wouldn't want to share the sled and one would scream the whole time and another would be doing something else to make the day difficult. I am so glad to say that I was wrong...even the baby had a great time. We packed lunchables and juice and had snacks when we got tired from tracking up the hill. I know it can be difficult to pack all the kids up and get all their stuff ready and then fight them in the car but when you get to see them with the biggest smiles on their face it is so worth it! Sledding on Saturday really reminded me that being a parent is the best job in the world
